Bookkeeper / Insurance Billing Coordinator

We are currently accepting applications for a Bookkeeper / Insurance Billing Coordinator within our long-term care and rehabilitation facility specializing in geriatrics.

We are looking for a dependable, organized, and detail-oriented individual with strong communication skills and a positive attitude. This position will work closely with residents, families, insurance providers, and facility leadership to ensure accurate and timely billing.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of billing experience in a long-term care setting preferred
• Experience billing Medicare, Medicaid, and other insurance providers preferred
• Similar billing or healthcare experience may also be considered
• Good understanding of accounting principles and procedures
• Ability to work with residents and families regarding billing questions, issues, and discrepancies
• Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Must pass a background check and drug screen

Essential Job Functions

• Prepare, review, issue, collect, and reconcile monthly billings
• Assist residents and families with billing questions and discrepancies
• Work with Medicare, Medicaid, insurance providers, and other payor sources as needed
• Maintain accurate billing and financial records
• Utilize accounting principles and procedures to ensure billing accuracy
• Prioritize multiple tasks and projects to meet deadlines and department objectives
• Communicate professionally with residents, families, insurance providers, and facility staff
