Looking for a Kitchen Manager to oversee BOH operations for BABA and Ferguson’s Country.
This is a working kitchen manager position — we are looking for someone who is comfortable working the line alongside the team , while also taking ownership of ordering, prep, organization, food quality, and day-to-day kitchen operations across both concepts.
We’re looking for someone energetic, positive, proactive, and extremely organized. The right person should be a strong cook first, with the leadership skills to keep two kitchens prepared, stocked, clean, and running consistently. Experience with events as well!
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Working the line and actively participating in daily service
Creating and managing daily and weekly prep lists for both Baba and Ferguson’s Country
Placing food and kitchen supply orders and maintaining appropriate pars
Managing inventory, receiving, storage, and product rotation
Monitoring food costs, waste, and portion control
Maintaining consistency and quality across all menu items
Training and developing BOH team members
Holding the kitchen team accountable to recipes, procedures, cleanliness, and organization
Maintaining DOH standards and ensuring proper food safety and sanitation practices
Communicating closely with management regarding staffing, ordering, maintenance, menu changes, and operational needs
Helping organize production between the two restaurants so prep is efficient and both kitchens are fully set up for service
Jumping in wherever needed
Has strong line-cooking experience and is comfortable in a high-volume kitchen
Has previous kitchen management, sous chef, or lead cook experience
Is highly organized and confident managing prep and ordering
Understands food cost, labor, inventory, and waste control
Leads by example and works well alongside their team
Is reliable, communicative, and proactive
Is interested in growing with a small, independently owned restaurant group
