We are searching for a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner — College Station, TX — someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. To practice in an advanced role to provide health maintenance for well newborns and infants, episodic care for ill infants, and comprehensive care for newborns and infants with chronic conditions. The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) practices through delegation of a medical staff attending and works collaboratively with other members of the health care team. Practicing under established guidelines, the NNP delivers medical aspects of care and assumes independent and interdependent responsibilities in the assessment, diagnosis and initiation of treatment and procedures. Job duties are performed in a manner that is developmentally appropriate for the ages of patients served. As an advanced practice nurse, the NNP may be involved in transport, education, consultation, research and evaluation of clinical practice at various levels.
Since 2003, the Texas Children’s Hospital Community Initiatives program has provided neonatal, pediatric and maternal fetal medicine services to community hospitals. Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Children's Hospital Providers oversee care for all high-risk neonates and the majority of well newborns at community partner hospitals.
